It’s frequently breaking news, a common conversation topic in the office breakfasts and typical chat with neighbors during endless seconds in the elevator: the weather is really unpredictable, doesn´t it? And the truth is that this climate madness has only just begun. Climate change is a reality to which we have to take action together if we want to not get out of hand. The action we suggest taking? Plant a tree
It still amazes us to see things like this from time to time: a sudden downpour of rain, then a surprising temperature rise and starts to snow a while later … but much more we´re going to be amazed at those sudden changes in the weather if we do not start to pay attention to what happens beyond our the end of own noses. Do you want to know the good news? We still have time to fight against it.
Surely you have stopped and thought at some point about what you could do to help reduce the devastating effects of climate change. Because climate change is not something that touches us from afar, but quite the opposite: just as our habits are part of the problem, it is also in our hands to remedy it. With a little individual effort, we would all eventually say that we managed to stop the disaster just in time.
FROGED is Planting Trees
In Froged we are the first to lead by example by doing our part to help to reduce the impact of climate change in the best way that has occurred to us: contributing to the reforestation of the forests of Brazil, the true lung of our beloved planet Earth. How do we do it? Very easy. For every month you subscribe to our platform, we will contribute in your name and plant a tree to make a more sustainable world that will help to preserve both nature and the wildlife that it hosts in the forests of Brazil.
And to make this possible, we have partnered with WeForest, a non-profit organization through which more than twenty-five million trees have already been planted in countries such as Brazil, Zambia, Tanzania and Ethiopia. In addition, WeForest works with communities, local organizations, and NGOs to develop scalable reforestation projects, demonstrating how it is possible to mobilize communities and restore our degraded soils.
WeForest, backed by a scientific network, is growing a movement of small and large responsible companies committed to having a positive impact on people and our planet.
The objective we have set for ourselves and for which you will start contributing from minute one is to reach a total of 2,000 trees planted, which will bring us a little closer to the global objective of curbing the progressive increase in global temperature, to the deforestation that worries us so much and to the set of serious consequences that all this implies.
Remember that this is just one more action of the many that you can put into practice in your day to day to fight against climate change. There are many ways you can fight actively for sustainability: Reduce water consumption, separate your waste to facilitate recycling, choose the options with less plastic in your weekly purchase, and promote the use of sustainable transport – or you could, I don’t know, plant a tree?
